Our vision for Oxford Proud Voices

Oxford Proud Voices is your queer community choir in Oxford.

It is open to everyone aged 18 and over: whether you have been singing for years or are new to singing, whether you read music or not; how ever you choose to identify your gender, sexuality or self.

All we ask is that you respect this as a queer, safe space and support our values, including inclusion, respect, and active promotion of human and queer rights.

Come sing for equality, solidarity and joy!

Concerts

• Our winter concert will be on Tuesday 16th December at the Wesley Memorial Church (address below). Watch this space for further details!
• We have previously performed at Oxford DIY Pride, Thame Pride, and our own concert Summer Sunshine: The Queers are Here in June 2025.

Rehearsals

• Interested in coming along to find out more? We’re currently preparing for a concert, so we recommend that new members join us next term at one of our new member evenings. These will be on Tuesday 20th January, Tuesday 3rd February, and Tuesday 3rd March.

• Next rehearsal: Tuesday 18th November, 6:45pm for a 7pm start, finishing at 9:15pm, with a break in the middle. We rehearse every Tuesday during term time, except for a one week half-term break. Next term’s dates: 20th January to 24th March, with a half-term break on 17th February.

• Venue: The Sanctuary, Wesley Memorial Church, New Inn Hall St, OX1 2DH
  The Sanctuary has lots of space, is very central and is fully wheelchair accessible. More access information coming soon! See also the Wesley Memorial Church website and their Inclusive Church page.

• Musical Director: We are thrilled to have Philip Read as our musical director; you can read more about him at philipread.net.

• Subscriptions: please see our payment policy (your first rehearsal is free).
